How to use ShinkansenView

 

ShinkansenView is an app that displays the approximate current positions of Shinkansen trains on a map, based on timetables. Each Shinkansen icon updates every five seconds as it moves from station to station. By tapping on a Shinkansen icon, you can view that train's timetable. When you close the timetable, the current route of that Shinkansen will be highlighted in blue. To clear the blue highlight, simply tap anywhere on the map once.

Pressing the list button in the upper-right corner shows a list of currently operating Shinkansen trains. Selecting a train from this list will jump directly to its location on the map. The settings menu in the upper-left corner allows you to configure the types of Shinkansen displayed, choose your preferred language, and set a specific time instead of the current time to view the operation status of Shinkansen trains.
